Professor/Associate Professor (Tenure Track) in Clinical and Translational Research - Hiring in process/Finished, not possible to apply

The University of Eastern Finland is inviting applications for a part-time (50 %) post of Professor/Associate Professor (Tenure Track) in Clinical and Translational Research on the Kuopio campus. The position will be filled as from 1 August 2024 (or as agreed). Please find more information below and submit your application by 22 December 2023 (the application period has been extended).

Role and salary    

As our new Professor/Associate Professor in Clinical and Translational Research (Tenure Track), you will be working in the Institute of Clinical Medicine at the Faculty of Health Sciences. The position is located in Kuopio, Finland.   

The post of Professor (50 %) will be filled until further notice as from 1 August 2024. In the case of an Associate Professor (Tenure Track), the post will be filled for a four-year term starting on 1 August 2024. The position is filled for a fixed term due to it being a Tenure Track position.

The duties of the Professor/Associate Professor in Clinical and Translational Research include conducting research in specialised medical care and translational medicine. The post is linked to the part-time (50%) post of Chief Physician at the Centre for Clinical Research of the Wellbeing Services County of North Savo.

The criteria, goals and results to be achieved during the term in order to proceed to the next level of the Tenure Track (Professor) will be agreed upon in detail with the person appointed as Associate Professor when signing the contract of employment. A probationary period is applied to all new members of the staff.   

The salary of the positions is based on levels 8–11 (EUR 5,223.57 – 7,697.25 /month) of the job requirement level chart for teaching and research staff in the Finnish universities’ salary system in the case of Professor, and on level 7 (EUR 4,320.23 /month) in the case of Associate Professor. In addition to a job-related salary element, a personal salary element is paid, which is 50% of the job-related salary element.
