The central idea of FAME is to form an internationally leading competence centre of applied mathematicians, physicists, and applied scientists with a vision of providing solutions and methodologies for various imaging and sensing problems arising from the industry and society to boost Finnish economy and global wellbeing.

Your main responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting research in accordance with the research proposal
  • Collaborating with national and international research institutions and companies
  • Writing scientific publications in peer-reviewed journals
  • Acquiring and implementing third-party funded projects
  • Supervising doctoral candidates, students, and interns
  • Participating in teaching

The research groups at the Department of Technical Physics (Computational Physics and Inverse Problems Research) and Biomedical Imaging Unit (Kuopio BIU) invite prospective Postdoctoral Researcher and Project Researcher candidates to apply for the positions, which will involve research on one of the following topics:

  1. Multimodal imaging of three-phase pipe flow
  2. Industrial modelling and optimization
  3. Computational imaging in MRI

More information and detailed descriptions of the topics can be found here. The applicants are requested to indicate the preferred projects (one or more) in their motivation letter attached to the application.
