UEF Student Ambassador 2024-2025 - Hiring in process/Finished, not possible to apply

University of Eastern Finland (Student and Learning Services) is looking for international student ambassadors (6 positions) to assist in international marketing and student recruitment activities of the university in the academic year 2024-2025. The call for applications is open until 7.4.2024.


Job description and salary

Location: Joensuu or Kuopio campus.

We are looking for student ambassadors for the period of 1th of September 2024 – 18th of June 2025. Ambassador tasks include:

• attending webinars and other events to our new students and applicants
• Instagram takeover and/or creating social media content (e.g. Instagram, TikTok, Youtube)
• “modeling” for the photo shootings in Kuopio or Joensuu
• other communication and marketing tasks related to international student recruitment, marketing and international degree programmes

Main focus of the work is to provide students’ views on the university studies and student life experiences in Kuopio and / or Joensuu. The ambassadors will be trained for their tasks.

Our ambassadors have variable working hours and the maximum number of ambassador hours in total is 50, and the hours vary between the months. The salary of the position is determined in accordance with the salary system of the Finnish universities. The ambassador's hourly wage is 13,52 euros per hour.

In addition, there are there also other tasks (i.e. social media takeovers) where the salary is agreed on a case-by-case basis. The number of hours (billable hours) is agreed in more detail with the ambassadors, depending on the student's opportunities to participate in the activities.

Requirements for the student ambassador

• is fluent in English language
• has excellent interpersonal and intercultural communication skills
• is very familiar with social media tools and online communication tools
• is a present student at UEF in international bachelor's or master's degree programme
• an active student, which can be seen in your study register
• you have at least one year of studies left at UEF

Applications without a functional video link will be deemed ineligible. Additionally, applications lacking a CV will also be considered ineligible.

Student and Learning Services together with the Communication and Media Relations will review the applications. The most potential applicants will be invited for an interview.

The dates of the interviews are as follows:

Joensuu: 23.4.-24.4.2024
Kuopio: 7.-8.5.2024
