We are looking for an International affairs service coordinator to join our Development Services.
The position is located at either Joensuu or Kuopio campus and will begin on 1 September 2025 or as agreed. Read more below and apply by 14 July 2025.

Position and Salary

As an International affairs service coordinator, you will work within the university’s Development Services, collaborating seamlessly across various University Services units, including human resources, development, and student and learning services. You will be expected to work on both campuses from time to time.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Assisting and advising international students and staff of the University of Eastern Finland on practical matters related to entry into Finland and settling in.
  • Supporting integration into Finland and the campus cities.
  • Compiling and updating materials related to the tasks.
  • Collaborating with service providers, authorities, and stakeholders that support integration.

The working language for this position is primarily English.

This is a fixed-term position from 1 September 2025 to 31 August 2027. Fixed term position is based on project entity that has pre-defined aims and duration. A six-month probationary period applies. Part-time arrangements can be negotiated.

The salary is determined according to the salary system for Finnish universities (other expert and support staff). It consists of a job-specific component and a personal performance component. For this position, the job-specific component corresponds to levels 7–8. The personal performance component ranges from 6% to 50% of the job-specific salary. Depending on the level, the starting salary will be approximately €2 784,96-3 485,86€/month.

We expect you to have:

  • A relevant higher education degree.
  • Fluent English skills and Finnish language skills sufficient for the tasks. Sufficient Finnish means the ability to communicate in Finnish (e.g., level B1) and to work in a role where English is the main working language.
  • Strong organizational and collaboration skills, as well as a customer service mindset.

  • Experience in international affairs and higher education.
  • Experience in services related to immigration.
  • Experience in stakeholder collaboration and networking.
  • Good command of relevant information systems and digital tools.
  • Experience in multichannel communication.
