We are seeking a Staff Scientist for a permanent position in the School of Medicine to develop the Cell and Tissue Imaging Unit at the Institute of Biomedicine.
In the role of a Staff Scientist, you will manage and work with advanced light microscopy techniques, biological image processing methods, and imaging data analyses. Additionally, you will be the key person in the comprehensive development of the Imaging Unit, including the enhancement of its operations and services. Your responsibilities will also include planning and implementation of projects, preparation of funding applications, and participating in teaching and training sessions. The position is filled from 1 June 2025 (or as agreed). The position is a full-time position. The probationary period of 6 months is applied to all new members of the staff.
The salary of the position is determined in accordance with the salary system for Finnish universities. The salary comprises two components: a job-related salary element and a personal salary element. In this position, the job requirement level is based on levels 6-7 (EUR 3,747.44 – 4,320.23) of the job requirement level chart for teaching and research staff. The personal salary element is 6 - 50% of the job-related salary element. Depending on the personal salary element, the salary will be approximately EUR 4,120 – 5,230 /month.
